When Tony’s away, it’s time for me to play

For the past couple of years, Tony has gone on an annual golf trip with the gentleman in his family. This year they chose to go to Reno and live it up by golfing, drinking and golfing. You all know how I feel about golf (an expensive hobby) but needless to say, Tony enjoys it so much and I will be the first to say that he deserves to go on trips like this!

Usually when he is gone for a longer weekend it is a time for me to make “mommy and Donovan” plans and have special dates for us. I even try to let him sleep in Tony’s and my bed, but after a few minutes of lying there, he will look at me and say, “I’m ready to go to my bed now mommy” (rude). This is also a good time for me to make plans with girlfriends to catch up and sip cocktails at trendy new spots in Seattle and eat at new brunch places…hmmm all food and drink related!

Last night, my “sipping cocktails” destination was on top of a roof of the 400 Fairview building in Seattle’s Lake Union area.

The Mbar is a swanky rooftop bar full of beautiful people and creative drinks. My good friend Ashley (I am also lucky enough to be related to her!) and I were ready to enjoy this bar after a long week of work and what a perfect place to top off the work week and start the weekend!
Oh you know, just a couple of girls having a cocktail!

Ashley works in the 400 Fairview building in Tommy Bahama’s corporate headquarters, so I was given a quick tour of this beautiful building. “The Hall” contains shops, bakeries/cafes, and even a flower arrangement shop which makes it so attractive to anyone to work in this building. (400 Farview)

Once we arrived at the Mbar (Located on “The Hall”) you walk right into an urban atmosphere of dimmed lights and friendly and outgoing hostesses. The dining room and indoor bar accepts reservations, however the rooftop bar seating is first come first serve. If you want to experience this without the wait on a weekend, I recommend coming here right when they open so you can get a good seat outside. Ashley and I had reservations and enjoyed wine, scotch and dinner. The food is excellent and innovative; I will tell you though, the portions are lighter, so I would not expect a full on Italian meal when coming here.

The charming take of this bar is that they provide quilts for people to take in case it gets chilly outside.

Once Ashley and I made our way outside, the views of the Space Needle and Seattle gave perfect picture opportunities and of course an opportunity to enjoy one more cocktail! MBAR

I would definitely recommend this place for “girl time” or even a private event. I probably would not take Tony to this place being that he is a pub and brewery type of guy!

Here are the details of what I wore. Like I said in my previous fashion post, it is bralette season! All bralettes and tanks are on sale right now at Tobi.com, which is where I have linked my outfit.

Ashley is someone I look up to for complete fashion sense!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! Stay tuned for the announcement of my Pikes Flowers Giveaway!!!!
