When Seattle Meets Tacoma
Michele: remember the prom? You got so thin by then.
Romy: Oh I know. I was so lucky getting mono. That was
like the best diet ever
Romy: Would you excuse me? I cut my foot before and my
shoe is filling up with blood.
Romy: I’ve been killing myself for eight days and I
gained a pound.
Michele: That’s impossible. Did you deduct sixteen pounds
for your shoes?

Quotes to live by. Quotes that will either make your eyes
role while you secretly think, I have said that before or that you laugh hysterically
at. Quotes that were written and used for the non-other, 1990’s flick, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.
I was asked to go on a date by my best friend, Brittney
to explore the brunch scenery of Seattle
full of mimosas and eggs and afterwards attend the 5th
Avenue theater where Romy and Michele’s
High School Reunion took the stage.
The “opener” of this blog post will feature Brittney a
wonderlust/Tacoma blogger. As a fellow lover for fashion, exploring, food,
cocktails, family, shoes…this list could go on and on….Brittney has naturally
taken the spot of being my best friend. We have known each other for about 6
years now and have been besties since about 3 years ago. I met her at my old
work where I taught cosmetology. You can imagine the emotion we both endured on
my last day at that job.
Brittney shows passion for many things, however the two
that stand out the most to me is her passion and love for her family (her
daughter and long term boyfriend) and her passion to explore new places that
involve the beautiful scenery of the Pacific Northwest. She is extremely
talented and a wealth of knowledge in the beauty/cosmetology industry and she
is definitely someone who people gravitate to. She and I are what you would say
“two peas in a pod” and I could not imagine my life without her friendship.
Along with everything that we have in common and that we like to do, she loves
to blog. Look up her blog: Postcards From the PNW (link) and do me a favor and
follow her on Instagram: brit_pnw. She is an extremely good resource for any experience
in Tacoma and an expert of day trips.
Yesterday we had THE BEST TIME and did what any bestie
duo would do, make up our own photo shoot around Pike Place Market, enjoy
brunch with tumblers of mimosas and attend Romy
and Michele’s High School Reunion at the 5th Ave Theater. I was
SOOOO excited to show off my favorite city since she has shown me so much of
what Tacoma has to offer. We began our first stop at Pike Place Market and
conducted our own little photo shoot as I was showing her my favorite spots at
the market. We were so lucky to catch my friend/flower guy Scott and he made us
a beautiful display of flowers made up of peonies and summer flowers.
Thank you again Scott for the bouquet!!!
Afterwards we went to one of my favorite brunch spots,
Toulouse Petit located in the heart of Queen Anne area. (Toulouse Petit) Toulouse Petit
is Cajun creole inspired restaurant that serves scrambles, beignets, benedicts,
and one of BEST bloody Mary’s that Seattle has to offer! The whimsical décor are
sure to make anyone feel at ease and I fully believe makes the dining experience
that much better while eating the amazing food. Our waitress anxiously
suggested we get the large mimosa and we quickly obliged.
That's a HUGE glass of Mimosa!!!
At our last stop, we made it to the 5th Ave
Theater with little to no expectation of how this popular movie would be as a
musical. And let me tell you, it not only exceeded my expectations but made me
think, I want to buy another ticket to this production to see it again!
Entertaining, laughter, dancing, glittered clothing, and cheerleaders all
describe the experience of this lovely musical. I have been to many 5th
Avenue productions and this one quickly made its way to the top of the list.
This production will show until July 2nd, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go
see this musical!! I guarantee that you will at least crack a smile and will
NOT be disappointed!
As a mother of a 3 year old that I am totally obsessed
with and a wife to a husband that I cannot imagine my life without, I think it
is important for me to have my friend time and balance it out in order to enjoy
my life to its fullest. I am so blessed to have a husband that understands this
and that I have a son who knows he is loved and shows such confidence that I
honestly did not contain until I was in college! Being able to brunch and sip
cocktails at a musical is a privilege that I do not take for granted. As I
continue to experience new things and write about them, I will forever enjoy
the life that God has blessed me with and I hope you all can do the same!
The shirt that I wore I recently bought from Nordstrom! It is on sale now! My bff Britney got her jumpsuit from Target. Target has been KILLING it with their summer clothes this year!
Have a great week everyone!!!
XOXOXO
Tiff
