Off of I-90
Highway I-90 is a road that I have frequently traveled
since I was 19 years old. It was the freeway that headed me to Seattle where I
branched out as a brand new college student. It is a freeway that I travel on
to visit my parents on the farm. It is a freeway that takes one to an open
opportunity of fulfilling their desire to explore nature and hike. This morning
we hiked along the Poo Poo Point trail located just off of I-90 from exit 17.
Along the way, you will have gorgeous views of the lush
greenery that Seattle is so well known for. This hike is moderate, you will
break a sweat and breathe a little harder while hiking up the trail, so prepare
for a good work out! Tony definitely got that in while he was carrying Donovan
on his back the whole time in the Osprey. If you have younger kids and love hiking as much as we do then you probably already have this hanging in your garage! We have been using this for Donovan since we was one and a half and it's amazing!!!
We started our hike around 7:30 in the morning and
reached the top in about an hour and a half. I was soooo sooo proud of Donovan
because he took the initiative to hike half of the trail on foot. This was the
first time he had decided to walk a more difficult hike himself and he was so
excited to do it!
It does get very crowded as the morning got later, so I
suggest you start early. The unique aspect of the top of the mountain is the
launching area they have for hang gliders. We did not see anyone jump off but
we did see a couple of people land once we got to the bottom of the mountain.
All I can say is, you will NEVER catch me hang gliding……Maybe Tony, but not me.
Our desire to explore the PNW is growing more and more
and we have planned out the rest of the summer with more hiking places to go!
Donovan was tuckered out!!!!!
Hope your weekend is ending with the feeling of content
and ready to tackle to work week!
XOXOX
