Sounders and Henry’s
WHEW….this weekend, like all of them, went by in a flash even though we had an extra day of fun. However, we lived the weekend to it’s fullest and did not waste any time. From going to a work party in West Seattle on Friday night to riding our bikes along the Puget Sound on Alki Beach, we were fully reminded of how much we enjoy our lives and how much we enjoy SEATTLE!
To spotlight what we did this last weekend, we attended the Sounders game with our season tickets and was hosted by Henry’s Tavern in South Lake Union.
Tony and I began going to Sounder’s games when we were first married about 10 years ago and it quickly became a favorite of ours to be surrounded by the fans, the food smells, and just the company of each other that it was natural for us to say yes to becoming shared season ticket holders this year.
This happens about 20 minutes into the game....I mean, what else would you expect from a 4 year old?
Although we were not able to celebrate a Sounder’s win that day, our spirits were quickly lifted when we went to South Lake Union area to eat at an amazing and fun spot for dinner. Henry’s Tavern is tucked away on Fairview Avenue and will IMMEDIATELY catch your attention if you are walking or driving by. The front of the restaurant showcases outdoor seating that leads into their attractive bar and a patio that is perfect for summer happy hours.
Shuffle board was the main attraction for Donovan and his little friend, while the drinks, food and beers were the main attraction for Tony and I!
MY DRINK WAS TO DIE FOR! The ginger pear martini was recommended by our friendly server and she also recommended it on the rocks, which I eagerly agreed to have.
That's pretty common for our drinks, beer for Tony, apple juice for D, and cocktail for me!
She also recommended the pretzel and dips, which was a huge favorite for all of us to share!
I appreciate restaurants who have healthier versions of dishes on their menus, so I was quickly drawn to their Protein Power Bowl with chicken, light and full of flavor.
Tony of course, was drawn to their signature Peanut Buster Burger, which of course, I tried and it was not a disappointment!
EVERYTHING on their menu is delicious looking and it was hard to make a decision on what to get! So of course, we will be back again. THANKS SO MUCH FOR HOSTING US HENRY’S!!!
The best thing about a long, 3 day weekend, is a short, 4 day work week and before you know it, the weekend is here again! Enjoy your work week friends, eat good food, be active, and do what makes you incredibly happy!
XOXO
Tiff
