Birthday Night at It’s Finest
I LOVE birthdays! Ok, let’s be honest, I LOVE to celebrate ANYTHING that involves going out to Happy Hour, good drinks, cake and Seattle. So naturally, when Tony’s birthday was coming around the corner to May 17th, I planned a night that just involved the two of us to explore Seattle food and culture that he and I both love.
Tony, you don't look a day over 25!
I decided to go to two different places that we have not been before and my decisions were spot one! After surprising Tony at work and “kidnapping” him, we headed to the Downtown Seattle Nordstrom where he just had at it by picking out new shoes! Tony NEVER shops for himself and feels “strange” spending money or splurging on new clothing…a feeling that I have never felt and probably never will, let’s be honest.
Afterwards we headed to one of our favorite places on the planet, Pike Place Market where it holds AMAZING places for eating and Happy Hours. El Borracho was our Happy Hour of choice and trust me when I say, if you’re roaming the street of 1st and Pike/Pine, YOU HAVE TO STOP HERE FOR THEIR GAUC AND CHIPS!!!
Our friend and Pike Flower Stand owner, Scott met us, and being that Pike vendors have such a strong culture with each other, they knew Scott right away and offered him and the birthday boy shots of tequila. I am happy we did not have Donovan when I went for this first time, because keep in mind that it is 21 and older after 5:00 pm throughout the entire restaurant and front patio.
Afterwards, I found an alley way across from where we were parked, and being a photographer I have trained my husband well to be on the lookout for ANY alleys, doors, cute walkways or anything that provides good photo opportunities. And take advantage we did! Even Tony got in on the fun.
Right Next to the Pink Door restaurant!
Fuzzy picture because I was laughing so HARD!
Oh Gosh...
Our dinner was at the GORGEOUS and infamous Edgewater Hotel in their Six Seven restaurant.
This place is EVERYTHING. The decor is hints of outdoor chic with the beautiful Puget Sound as it’s backdrop. The service and staff did not disappoint as they were attentive and eager to answer any questions and give any opinions on their wine list and food. And the FOOD was earthy, filling and beautifully displayed.
PLEASE go to this restaurant during our beautiful summer days and sit outside on their patio.
Tony’s birthday was another good one for the books and he deserves the very best and the most fun in all of the land! He is an amazing husband and father to Donovan and I am truly blessed to be able to celebrate another year with this incredible man.
XOXOXO
Tiff
