Arizona is MY Heaven on Earth
Seattle is FINALLY getting into some BEAUTIFUL, SUNSHINY weather! Let the tank tops, short and sandals come out!
Last week, to escape the rain and get into some hot heat, we ventured to Arizona. You guys….I LOVE LOVE LOVE Arizona!!! In fact, I have already written TWO bog posts about it from our trip last year (read about it here and here).
But in this one, I wanted to share with you all about my favorite place to visit in Arizona, and that’s Sedona.
Sedona is about 1-1/2 hours from Phoenix and WELL WORTH the drive! It caters to the most beautiful red rock mountains, great shopping and GORGEOUS food and of course ice cream!
You cannot experience Sedona in just one morning or afternoon, so if you plan to visit, I would suggest spending an entire two days there to really get the experience.
Here is what we did in Sedona and there is SO MUCH more we could have done if we spent a weekend there.
Hiked
GORGEOUS Red Rock hiking! We hiked Cathedral Rock and ended on an AMAZING view that had great photo opportunities. This hike was pretty easy with a couple of steep climbs, but not too difficult. Other hikes there include: Devil’s Bridge Trail, Bell Rock, and Templeton Trail.
Ate
ICE CREAM!!! Such a small shop that contained perfect ice cream on a hot day.
We had lunched at the Hudson near downtown Sedona that served THE BEST CHEESE PLATTER that I had EVER EVER had in my life!!!
Shopped
We did not spend too much time in downtown Sedona because we prioritized and immediately went to the Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village. We got there around 9:30 am and by the time we left a couple of hours later it was PACKED! And so was downtown Sedona, so we were unable to find parking.
Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village is UHHHH MAZING!!! AWESOME Mexican restaurants, AWESOME little shops and boutiques and art galleries that showcases tons of talent. If you are photographer like myself, you will fall in LOVE with the amazing spots you can take that perfect picture! We literally spent so much time here and could have spent more time!
Although unbearably hot for some, Arizona is a great place for Seattlites to escape the rainy weather. During the months of late February-June is perfect weather and between July-October is when you will experience the 110 degree weather.
I am SO SO excited for this summer and all of the trips and outdoor activities we will be doing! I hope you all are starting off your summer off with trips? Planting flower? BBQs?
Happy May!
