2120
There are many landmarks of Seattle which include,
Gasworks Park where the movie of most of our childhoods, “10 Things I Hate About You” was filmed.
Our beloved Pike Place Market that poses as one of the most visited spots of
the city. The great Space Needle that was built in 1962 for the world fair. The
Fremont Troll that is usually the first spot that most SPU and UW students take
their visiting family and friends. Now there is a chance for a new landmark in
Seattle that is located on the Amazon Campus that include 3 glass enclosed,
round shaped buildings, known as The Spheres. These buildings will house different types of plants
and Amazon employees will have a chance to expand their creative thinking by
holding meetings within these structures. The whole idea of behind the Sphere
project is to uphold the presence of environment education. This landmark is
set to open next year of 2018.
View of the Spheres from where we were sitting
Underneath these Spheres houses a delicate and
sophisticated restaurant that Tony and I visited over last weekend called 2120.
After visiting their “sister” restaurant in Bellevue, 99 Park, we knew that the
cuisine and the restaurant space was going to be nothing short of perfection
and thorough thoughtfulness. As I was taking pictures of the space and asking
our friendly hostess and attentive waiter about the restaurant,
I envisioned
this new restaurant to follow the footsteps of its popular sister restaurant.
2120 opened its doors last June and has since then strive for high standards of
its beautifully crafted drinks and creative food.
Tony and I were lucky enough to have met the owner and
his beautiful family (wife and 2 children) while we were there. He introduced
himself to us and made us feel at ease as he continuously thanked us for
visiting his restaurant. The restaurant portrays what my first impression was
of what this wonderful family is: warm, inviting, classy, and confident.
You all know me by now and I love a good cocktail! My
drink consisted of black cherry undertones and Tony’s drink marked the
flavorful tones of bourbon.
The food was beautifully displayed to a point of
almost being disappointed to disturb its craftiness, however our stomachs
thought otherwise since we were ready to eat!
After dinner, we found THE CUTEST little treat shop that
held the eye catching array of colors in the form of macaroons.
Lady Yum offers
not only these delectable little treats, but you can also pair a glass of
champagne or a glass of rose while you enjoy your macaroon. We bought four with
the intention of giving Donovan one when we got home, but oops, it somehow did
not make it home. They have a location in Kirkland and one close to 2120 in the
Amazon campus.
Enjoy the rest of your week friends and remember that it is
hump day! You deserve a treat after this week so maybe you should stop by Lady
Yum!
Amazon Wall Photo. My top was from the Nordstrom Sale! PERFECT for warm nights!
