Sisters
Fridays have been one of my days off for about a couple
of months now. Tony usually works on Fridays so Donovan and I have called these
days our “Donovan and Mommy” days. I always anticipate a day off by filling it
with new experiences, a fun activity for Donovan and I, and of course trying
out new places to brunch! You know you have an addiction to something when your
3 year old son has the word “brunch” in his everyday vocabulary and will
randomly use it during a conversation of trains and Legos.
Before I share with you about what we experienced today,
I want to introduce you to my sister Tessa. Tessa is without a doubt, my other “husband”.
Now that we are both in our 30s (we are only 11 months apart), I realize how much
we have gone through in our grade school, college, and adult years and how I
could not imagine my life without her. She is someone who makes everyone feel
like they are the funniest person in the world. She is someone who sets a role
of an excellent companion to any person in her life. She is someone who enjoys
life with her 2 year old son, Hudson. She and I were adopted from South Korea
when we were just babies (that my friends, will be another blog post), and even
though we are not blood related, our bond is just as strong if we were.
Today we went to the Coastal Kitchen on Capitol Hill in
Seattle. Have you ever roamed around that area? I love Seattle so much because of
all the diversity you come across within one city. I ordered the goat cheese omelet
and I cannot express to you enough how that was THE BEST goat cheese omelet I
have ever, EVER had!!!! The décor and ambience is perfect for families to
brunch and the staff is extremely helpful and nice. They have an excellent patio
that I can only assume will be filled with tables and happy people sipping mimosas (mine will be a carafe)
during the upcoming summer.
IN LOVE with the patio
After brunch we always roam around Pikes market. Pikes
Place Market will forever hold a special place in mine and Tony’s hearts, so it
is only natural that we set the same impression on Donovan.
The best part of
roaming today was the how funny Tessa and I must have looked trying to take
pictures while we had two toddlers running around like wild gazettes, but at
least they had a good time!
Last night, I was chatting with Donovan and told him how proud I am of him and that we could pick out a prize for him when I go to Pikes. It does not happen very often that he gets to buy a toy when we are out and about, but when it does, he is the proudest little 3 year old, carrying that bag out of the store.
The weekend is almost here friends! Make memories, enjoy
and cheers!
