Here’s to a New Year with New Experiences, Like this One…

Happy New Year everyone! 2018 is going to be INCREDIABLE…I can feel it! First blog post of 2018! After writing in my last post about my new year’s goals (read here), I am SO SO excited for what 2018 has to hold for me and my family and all of the new experience’s in 2018.

This last weekend we ventured south of Seattle to Tacoma and we were able to experience a new brunch place and a new event as 2017 began to come to an end. So calling all brunch lovers (like myself) and mom’s of young boys who LOVE trains because you might want to put this event on your calendar for next year!

Our brunch spot was at Montamara Kitchen in North Tacoma that is located through Schuster Parkway into old town Tacoma. We do not go to Tacoma very often, however, North Tacoma has so many amazing eating spots and offers beautiful landmarks and activities.

Montamara Kitchen serves hearty, earthy and savory food that will immediately make your mouth water once you see your entrée come out. Tony especially loved this place because they were not shy of using roasted, whole garlic cloves in some of their dishes.

Donovan loved it because of their sweet apple cider  he gulped down in 10 seconds and I loved it because of the friendly ladies that served us and the UUUHHH MAZING breakfast sandwich I DEVOURED!

Afterwards, we went to the gorgeous building of the Washington State Historical Museum that showcased the Model Train Festival.

Located right across the street from the UW of Tacoma, this museum is BEAUTIFUL and you are greeted right away by a train display that gives you only a small taste of what is to come. Donovan literally threw off his jacket even before being completely inside of the building and ran with so much excitement towards the trains.

This festival is completely worth everything and fulfills the dreams of every young, aspiring conductor. It begins in mid-December and runs until January 1st. A PERFECT time to spend as a family outing!

This upcoming year for the blog, I hope to give you all more food and experience advice and dip my hands into more blogging photography! Bring on the New Year!

XOXO
Tiff
